‘Pounding’ helps fill Food Share shelves

Food Share volunteers create an assembly line for food collection at last year’s pounding at Grocery Outlet.

Mon Ami Gourmet Deli and Antiques will host its 13th annual old-fashioned “Pounding” to benefit Florence Food Share on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grocery Outlet in Florence. 

The event is co-sponsored by KCST Radio, which will conduct a live radio remote with local radio personality Wayne Sharpe on location throughout the morning.

“This is our 13th year sponsoring the Pounding,” said Cindy Wobbe, owner of Mon Ami, “and I’m always amazed at the response we receive from this wonderful community. Last year we set a record — more than 6,400 pounds of food — and I’d love to see us top that.
