SALEM — Oregon lawmakers announced this week that the state’s shallow-draft ports will receive $6 million in additional dredging funds.
For the Port of Siuslaw, that translates to $698,000 for dredging.
“We were expecting zero. This is welcome news,” Port Manager Robert Forsythe said Wednesday, adding that port officials will meet later with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to discuss potential projects.For the complete article see the 03-08-2014 issue.
