Larry Vaderon McBee

MCBEEŚLarry Vaderon McBee, 84, of Florence, passed away on May 17, 2014.

Larry was born July 18, 1929, in Eugene, Ore., to Edward and Martha (Knowles) McBee.

He married Betty Lorraine Chase of Eugene, Ore., on Dec. 27, 1963.

Larry and Betty met at Springfield Baptist Church as teenagers. A graduate of Springfield High School and Oregon State University, Larry had a long and varied career that included stints in the Oregon State University Dairy Products lab, as a surveyor, dairy farmer, owner of a computer portraits business and Coast to Coast store, and finally owner of Sure Beats Farmin candy store in Old Town for 15 years until his retirement in 2007.

Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty; his children: James McBee and wife Joyce, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Kellie McBee and husband Rolf Larson, of Seattle, Wash.; and two grandchildren, Stephen and Joseph Marriner of Arizona.

Burnsĺs Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial service will be held at the Florence Evangelical Church at 11 a.m. on June 7.

Private interment was held at Pacific Sunset Cemetery.
