He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Virginia Kerr, formerly of Gold Beach, Ore.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer White, of Florence; his brother, Paul Kerr of Iowa; his dear aunt, Jackie Kendall, of Montana; and two daughters, Darcy and Stacy, of California.

Da置d loved to write poetry, letters to the editor (while living in Gold Beach), and was an online newspaper editor himself for many years. He enjoyed listening to jazz with Monk, Coltrane and Miles Davis being his favorite artists.

He loved all his cats, the bears that would visit the neighborhood and his wife痴 small flower garden.

His favorite flower was California poppy.

Da置d痴 interest in trains grew from his experiences while hopping trains in his youth. He was a good storyteller and enjoyed discussing politics with anyone who would listen.

Da置d endeared himself to his many friends and caregivers. He believed gratitude was the most important thing and was always grateful for the care he received from Dr. Nair, Dr. Naqvi and the entire Peace Harbor Hospice team.

Their attention to his comfort in his final days did not go unnoticed by him.

The man with the deep voice, who practiced being a stand-up comic, and was lovingly called a 田haracter, will be greatly missed by his family, extended family and many friends.

Burns痴 Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home is handling the cremation arrangements.
