Annual Wings and Wheels planned for Saturday

The Florence–Siuslaw Lions Club presents the sixth annual Wings and Wheels Aircraft Fly-In and Car Show at the Florence Municipal Airport Saturday, July 5. More than 75 cars from throughout Oregon are expected, including six from the Grants Pass area, a 1935 Dodge truck from Southern California and the featured poster car, a 1940 Ford coupe, owned by Gary Balough of Eugene.

Expected aircraft include Phil Groshong’s Lance Air from Eugene, the Reach helicopter and a visit from the U.S. Coast Guard in North Bend with one of its helicopters. Apex Heli and Aero Legends will offer tours throughout the day.

More than 20 organizations are expected to attend the festival, including Western Lane Ambulance District; U.S. Coast Guard, Siuslaw and North Bend; the Eugene Police Department Bomb Squad; Oregon Department of Forestry; U.S. Forest Service; CERT; Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue with several fire trucks; Central Oregon Coast Amateur Radio Club: Central Oregon Coast British Car Club; Central Coast Military Vehicle Group and many more.
