Interim superintendent sees challenge for coming school year

The tight budget constraints the Siuslaw School District has struggled with over the past several years have finally lessened. Only to be replaced with a new looming challenge, according to Siuslaw School District Interim Superintendent Ethel Angal.

“Education in Oregon is about to undergo a huge shock wave,” Angal said. This is because Oregon will be transitioning from the state version of No Child Left Behind and its assessment protocol called the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to the new Common Core protocol.
