BERNING—Beverly Berning lost her battle with brain cancer on May 10, 2022, at the age of 62. She fought this battle head-on with grace, dignity, and laughter till the end. She passed away peacefully at home as she wanted.
Beverly was born and raised in the Tigard area of Portland and moved to Florence in the late 1970s, when her parents bought Rhododendron Trailer Park on Highway 101. She joined the army to get out of Florence and eventually ended up in Texas.
She moved back to Florence in 1999 and stayed in the area until December of last year. When she and her daughter bought a house together in the Willamette Valley, she left behind a legacy of never giving up and more unfinished craft projects than her daughter can count.
Beverly spent her life taking care of her kids and helping raise her grandkids so her daughter could fulfill her dreams of getting her college degree. She was willing to sacrifice where she felt it was needed to help her daughter build a better future for the family.
She is preceded in death by both her parents and son Sam. She is survived by her siblings Linda, Bob, Debbie and Tom; daughter Ray-Lynn; grandkids Isac and Chloe; a great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
