Omicron causes 2 week delay

Jan. 6, 2022 — Sam Gauderman, head of the Boys & Girls Club of Western Lane County Basketball Program, announced on Jan. 6 that the start of the season will be delayed two weeks.

“Due to the Omicron outbreak and contagious nature, we will be delaying the start of basketball for two weeks,” said Gauderman.

Practice was originally scheduled to begin the week of Jan. 10 for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Practices will now begin the week of Jan. 24. An updated practice and scrimmage schedule will be emailed to participants.
