Fatal car crash claims life of Florence man

Aug. 29, 2022 — A Florence resident sustained fatal injuries in a Saturday morning crash on Highway 126, according to Oregon State Police (OSP).
Chad Colborn, 39, was driving westbound on Highway 126 near milepost 29 when he failed to negotiate a corner and exited the roadraw, striking a tree.
Three other passengers in the car sustained injuries. Skeyla Wardrobe, 26, of Mapleton, was transported via air ambulance with critical injuries, while Shane Sprinkle, 34, of Florence and Jaydon Woodruff, 24, of Eugene, were transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash, which occurred at approximately 6:19 AM, closed the highway for approximately five hours Saturday as the scene was being investigated by OSP.
OSP was assisted by Western Lane Fire, Central Fire and Rescue, Lane County Sheriff's Office, and ODOT.
