Janice D. Brandow (Johnson), passed away January 25, 2022
BRANDOW–Janice D. Brandow (Johnson), 83, of Florence, Ore., passed away January 25, 2022, in Florence.
She was born June 16, 1938, to Jesse and Martha Johnson in Santa Monica, Calif. She grew up in Burbank with her brother Richard Johnson.
Janice married Dennis Brandow in 1974. They lived in West Hills, Calif., before they moved to Florence in 2000.
Janice worked in the motion picture industry. She was the first person to achieve an Emmy Award and was nominated another 6 times. She was the first woman president of Local 706 Makeup and Hairstylists Union. She was a governor for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science.
After moving to Florence, Janice enjoyed doing stained glass, camping with their RV and reading. She was also part of the Lady Elks, where she was president for two years.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert Brandow, father Jesse C. Johnson and mother Martha R. Johnson.
Janice is survived by her husband Dennis Brandow, daughter Terri Brunson, sibling Richard Johnson; granddaughter Tawnee Brunson; great-grandchildren Alexander, Dylan, Cole, Donovan and Olivia and niece Cyndy Johnson.
