Joseph Marco Cuffaro, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, in West Linn, Oregon.
Joe was born March 9, 1932, in San Jose, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Marge) Cuffaro. Joe attended San Jose High School where he met and married his sweetheart, Marge. They began their life together in San Jose where they raised their four children. Joe and Marge were members of the SF 49er Faithful and season ticket holders for many years. Besides being witness to the infamous ‘catch’ game at Candlestick Park, they were also fortunate to attend Super Bowl XIX in Palo Alto. They moved to Florence Oregon in 2001. Joe enjoyed his retirement life fishing -- on a boat, on the riverbank, or on a dock – fishing with new friends and old friends who often visited him in Florence. (The best catch of his life was Marge!) Joe is survived by his four children; son Randy of San Leandro, CA; son Steve of Portland, Oregon; daughter Lorri (Langin) and her husband Richard, of Acton, Massachusetts; son Chris of Hollywood, CA; grandfather to Spencer and his wife Shannon; Madelyn (Langin), and Claire (Langin). He is also survived by his sister, Arleen Cuffaro Austin and her husband, Dr. Harvey Austin of Chester, Connecticut. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express its deepest thanks and appreciation for the assistance and care provided by the community of doctors, healthcare workers and staff at Rose Linn Care Center in West Linn, Oregon.
