Update

Oct. 27, 2021 — Searchers with the Lane County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team have located the body of missing 59-year-old Guy Vernon Knight of Polk County. 

Knight was reported missing by family members after he was last seen at his residence in Dallas, Ore., on Oct. 15. 

Knight’s vehicle was located in the parking lot of the South Jetty staging area south of Florence on Oct. 18. His body was located Oct. 27 by drone in a nearby wilderness area away from the main roadway. 

The investigation into his death continues; however, at this point there are no indications that Knight was the victim of a crime or other foul-play.
