May 17, 2023 — Preliminary results are in for the May 16 Special District election.

Based on these results, Brian Lacouture and Dianna Pimlott will retain their positions on the Siuslaw School Board of Directors with their wins over Devon Weinstein and Jason Wood, respectively. 

It appears Tamara Cole and Josh Haberly will join them. Cole has a lead over current Board Chair Bob Sneddon and Haberly leads incumbent Frank Armendariz. 

The Lane County Jail Levy is passing in resounding fashion. 

Mapleton Water District has one of its District Commissioner positions open and that race is currently too close to call as Nancy Pettibon currently has a one vote lead over Arthur Donnelly 36-35.
