KIEF—Thomas Bruce Kief, 77, of Hanford, Calif., passed away on Jan. 29, 2020.
Born as Thomas Bruce Dahlgren to Alice Louise McClelland and Ernest M. Dahlgren, Thomas “Tom” was born on Sept. 27, 1942, in the city of Monroe, Snohomish County, Wash.
Adopted by Dorothy S. Kief and Alonzo “Lon” Kief, Thomas Bruce Kief grew up in Florence, Ore., where he shared many fond memories.
After graduating from Siuslaw High School, Tom enlisted in the United States Navy, retiring after 22 years of service as a Chief Quartermaster.
Tom is remembered for his love of fishing and his passion for music. From a young age, Tom learned how to play the guitar. Throughout his life, he shared his love of music with his family and continued to play his collection of guitars until his passing.
He is survived by his brothers: Lonnie “Cork” Kief and Arthur Dahlgren; his children: Rey Kief, Zaldy Kief, Kimberlee Kief-Carroll, Cynthia Kief and Catherine Kief Belantes; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Thomas Bruce Kief will be laid to rest at Pacific Sunset Memorial in Florence on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021.
Afterwards, a “Celebration of Life” will be hosted by Lonnie and Connie Kief.
